Race: Braman
------------
It is said of Braman that they never forget a name or a face. They are the close relatives of elephants, having a trunk, large ears and an overall grey complexion. The rest of their body is roundish and while looking soft and pudgy, it masks their natural strength. They can use their trunk to do any number of things, since it is as flexible and much stronger than any arm. They see poorly but have a deeply defined sense of smell and incredible hearing that makes them rely on these other senses and giving them different views of the world than other races might have. Braman are a proud and intelligent race. They are fearlessly brave, never forgetting neither a friend nor foe. Braman have historically been a pacifist race, but lean and uncertain times have lessened that emphasis somewhat. Braman sages surpass even the mystican Rowans and Elves in their knowledge.

Braman
The bramen are a race that is slowly dying out. Once, they were found everywhere, in all walks of life, but now, they are virtually nonexistent.
The bramen are thought to have originally come from somewhere in the south, on a different continent than this. Some traveled over to this continent in great ships when human culture was just beginning. Merely from a historical perspective, this makes them the peers of the catfolk and rowans. However, their culture was quite different than the other two. While religion was the center of catfolk culture, and enlightened debate the center of the rowan, history and learning were at the center of braman life.
Bramen have exceptionally long memories, a trait which I very much envy in them. It is because of these exceptional mnemonic skills that bramen make such excellent sages. While I must search from text to text in order to find a reference that I only vaguely remember, a braman sage would not only remember the book that the reference was in, but also the page that it was on and the handwriting with which it was written. One aspect of this cultural focus on history and learning skills is the Riddle Game. It is a game, played in one form or another in all bramen societies, which focuses around the telling of riddles that the braman has learned from throughout the world. The game progresses, each telling one riddle, until their opponent cannot answer. The victor is then considered to be the superior of the loser until such time as they are challenged again. Contrary to popular belief, simple questions, such as "Where is Karnak located," are not allowed in the riddle game.
Physically, bramen stand from six to eight feet tall. Their skin is greyish and wrinkled and they have great flaplike ears. They also have a prehensile trunk which they tend to use as an extra hand. Their trunks, combined with their great ears and grey skin tend to make the bramen look quite a bit like the oliphants of the southern continent that they are believed to come from. Also noted is the similarity between the appearance of the bramen and the wokra, and they are indeed believed to be related in some way.
Note: the plural form has been variously said to be Braman, Bramen, Bramans, or (preferred by Kissade) Brapeople (singular Braperson)
