Race: Troll

Trolls come in many shapes and sizes, their appearance being as diverse as their nature. Living very long lives, Trolls have the outlook that in time things will work out. They usually don't see a need to change since time and again things revert back to the way they were. They are strong and heal so quickly that it is said that to actually kill a Troll they must be totally dismembered. Highly magical, there are rumors that Trolls were created long ago by a mad wizard. While being slow learners, they can with time become very powerful mages. Trolls are very near sighted, the result of living in the dark swamps and caves that they often spend their lives in. It is sometimes wondered if the trolls live in the swamps because of a lack of a desire to leave or if they have hidden themselves so deeply that they have forgotten the way back.

Troll
It has commonly been observed that trolls are the most relaxed of all the races. They tend to take life as it comes, knowing that if they are hurt by life, they will heal quickly enough.
Because of this attitude, trolls tend to not specialize in any single field. They tend to notice something of interest, learn how to do it, and then move on. Perhaps trolls do not want to be known for being the best at anything because it would mean that they would have to uphold that reputation. Generally, they would rather not bother. They are usually content to laze around their villages in the swamps, or wander around the lands, merely taking in the world about them.
It is unknown where trolls came from, but I suspect that the origin of their species lies in magic. While not many troll become much more than dabblers in the mystic arts, nearly every troll has a strong ability to tap magical forces.
Physically, trolls vary the most of any race. They range from only a foot or so high, to seven or eight feet. Their skin and hair can be nearly any color you could imagine, save blue or purple. However all trolls share the same rubbery skin and deep set, black eyes.
